The client

Salon Violka is a cosmetic salon providing various cosmetic services, ranging from purely cosmetic and hairdressing to pedicure. Situated in the heart of Opava and being led by a passionate and expert business owner, the salon also regularly publishes blogposts on various cosmetics related topics that are read by thousands of people in the region.

The assignment

The client's original website was not built for independent modifications. This proved especially troubling whenever the owner wanted to update pricing, photogalleries or publish new blogposts. Additionally, their website was built from a very simple template and hasn't been updated for years, which led to the site looking extremely amateurish and cheap. The client desperately needed an update to reflect the quality and passion of their services.

My approach and services

Based on the assignment which hinted how the client wants to come across, I defined brand colors, picked an appropriate typeface and overall visual style. After having an approval from my client, I went on to plan the sitemap, CMS structure and consequently built the wireframes. This I again discussed with the client, who happily approved my work so far. I went on to fully design every page, with special focus on the individual services and a price list for each, aiming for easiness and logic.

Challenges

As all the services could be presented by the same flow of information, originally I thought they would be easy CMS templates. However, a single service page contained so many entries it was not possible to make it easy by CMS dynamic pages - therefore I had to use Webflow's powerful components to build all the individual service pages.

High satisfaction

My client was extremely satisfied by the outcome, telling me their customers are praising them for the new website's looks. But looks aren't everything - the highest satisfaction of my client came from them receiving custom-made video guides how to service the page. The client is not particularly strong in tech, so as a part of the aftercare I've recorded a video guide for each part of Webflow's toolbox, explaining simply and in layman's terms how to pay for hosting, change texts, add images and create and publish articles.

IdealMove

Podology and physiotherapy

IdealMove is an established brand in physiotherapy and podology whose mission is to help people towards truly healthy movement. But despite their expertise and success, their current website at that time was old and with no clear brand direction, every subpage made by a different person with a different taste and without a professional designer overseeing the whole project.
